This amazing island has a wide range of incredible beaches. Think soft, white sand, sheer cliff faces, calm turquoise bays and pumping surf breaks. You can surf, stand up paddleboard, swim, snorkel, scuba dive or simply laze in the shade with a cocktail in hand. There’s a beach for every kind of sun lover. Head over to our Map of Nusa Lembongan page for exact locations. Below is our list of the best beaches on Nusa Lembongan.
Jungutbatu (Jungut Batu) Beach
Some write Jungutbatu, others Jungut Batu. My polling on Lembongan says Jungutbatu but online the vast majority go with Jungut Batu. Either way, this is the main beach you see photographed and is where the village of Jungut Batu or Jungutbatu fronts on to. It is the longest beach on the island and great for a long walk at sunset. While the southern end of the beach is a bit busy and not ideal for swimming on the plus side it is home to several restaurants with spectacular views across the bay to Mount Agung on Bali. All the main surf breaks including Shipwrecks, Lacerations and Playgrounds are offshore from here.
Dream Beach
With its pure white sand & crystal clear water, Dream Beach is definitely one of Nusa Lembongan’s most beautiful beaches. With the powerful surf and strong current, it’s best to stick between the designated swimming lines. The secluded, laid back atmosphere of this beach perfectly suits the southern side of the island.
Blue Corner
While technically a part of Jungut Batu (Jungutbatu) Bay, sitting on the sand or under the trees in a bean bag and watching the sunset with a sangria in hand at Blue Corner Bar and Restaurant is what island life is like in a nutshell. This beach bar is famous in Lembongan as the social hang-out for divers, surfers, travellers, expats and anyone who enjoys a relaxing drink on the beach. Make sure you check out the Friday sunset parties for an evening of great music, drinks & food followed by dancing on the beach and a beach fire until late.
Sandy Bay (Sunset Beach)
With its beautiful white sand and gorgeous unspoilt views, this beach is perfect for a long lunch or a cheeky sunset cocktail or three and dinner at the Sandy Bay Beach Club, a favourite amongst visitors to Nusa Lembongan. In fact, most locals know this is THE spot to watch the spectacular Lembongan sunsets. Sandy Bay is a little beach but is definitely one of the most spectacular hot spots on the island.
Mushroom Beach
Located in a secluded bay towards the west of the island, Mushroom Beach is perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Named after the mushroom corals offshore, this bay is safe and friendly for common watersport activities such as banana boating or paragliding. Keep in mind that the coral at this beach is sharper than the coral that you find in Bali, so it is recommended to wear some rubber shoes if you enjoy beach walking at low tide. Can get super busy in the middle of the day with day-trippers from Bali and is the closest beach to Lembongan Village.
Mangrove Beach
Located at the end of the Mangroves to the north of Jungut Batu Village, it is an ideal beach for stand-up paddleboarding and other water activities. This beautiful beach showcases an incredible view of Mount Agung on Bali and features soft sand surrounded by mangrove trees.
