I was 15 years young when I first visited the “Islands of the Gods” Bali.
I remember as if it was yesterday, the intoxicating effect the island had on me and crying all the way home vowing that one day I would live in the perfect paradise that I had fallen in love with.
Fast forward many years and many visits to Bali, the island that I once coveted as a magical place was beginning to lose its appeal.
The casual island vibe that I dreamed of being a part of had grown up and lost its hold on me.
In June 2012, I ventured across the ocean to Nusa Lembongan and found the Island of my dreams. Just a quick 30-minute fast boat ride from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Two months later I had purchased land that was to become 353 Degrees North.
My fascination with the ever-changing view of Mt. Agung has bordered on obsession.
Waking up at 4 am to watch the night fade to day as the sun rises in the east.
The hazy days that creates amazing layers of colour.
The clear days when Mt. Agung seems so close you feel like you could reach out and touch it.
Also, the days when the cloud cover will allow a glimpse…..if you’re lucky!
To me, it is the most peaceful and beautiful place on earth. My mountain never disappoints.
353 Degrees North is available for holiday rental, so why don’t you come and enjoy it too!
